We are recruiting a

 

Scientist (MSc/ PhD) in

Cancer Biology - Biomarker and Target discovery - OMICS Data Science  

(m/f/d)

 

to grow, support and diversify our data mining and drug development activities in Freiburg (Germany)

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

In the context of the development of novel anticancer agents, you will have the responsibility for various in silico projects. To this end, your main responsibilities will be as follows:

 

  • Perform and present data analyses in the field of translational oncology, molecular diagnostics, clinical development, and statistics. Mainly, analyze, visualize, and summarize data issued from OMICS (NGS, microarrays, …) and anti-cancer drug databases. Handle data from large public and proprietary molecular databases (preclinical and clinical data). Characterize novel targets and identify predictive biomarkers.

  • Contribute to the development of analytical tools in our Cancer Data Miner software, and to the expansion of our databases.

  • Acquire, design, and implement customer research projects.

  • Communicate projects and results to various audiences.

 

Qualification profile:

 

  • MSc or PhD (preferred) in computational biology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or related field with a significant computational and statistical component.

  • Expertise with R scientific computation environment with Linux environment (shell scripting, python, high-performance computing).

  • Strong experience with analysis of cancer related large genetic, genomic, and drug sensitivity datasets.

  • A high degree of self-motivation, flexibility, and willingness to broaden the knowledge of data analytic tasks that are required to independently conduct experiments.

  • Experience in Processing NGS data (WES and RNA-Seq), AI and modelling are a plus.

  • team player operating with a high degree of professionalism, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • An excellent level in English (written and spoken), German and French are a plus.
