In Silico Chemistry, Molecular | M. Schmitz, MSc

Mirko Schmitz’s main scientific focus is employing chemoinformatics to discover and to optimize novel anticancer compounds. Besides this, Mirko is responsible for maintaining 4HF Biotec’s computation servers.

Mirko holds a M.Sc. in Biology with a specialization in translational Biology from the University of Freiburg, Germany. During his work as a research assistant at the University of Freiburg, he has developed a utility for pH dependent protein structure analysis and a protein structure-based machine learning model for the engineering of proteins to be used in a novel breast cancer treatment.
